On-going Projects - Section IV

1. REFURBISHMENT OF 20 NOS CBX & PXG WAGONS AT ZARIA



Contract awarded on 13th October, 2009. Job completed in January, 2010. Wagons to be used for freight traffic.




2. SUPPLY OF FLEET GUARD CLEANSING AND COOLING MATERIAL



Contract awarded on 9th October, 2009. Supply completed in January, 2010. To be used for water treatment to effectively cool the locomotive engines.




3. SUPPLY OF 100 TONS RAILWAY CRANE:



Contract awarded on 2nd November, 2009. Not yet supplied. To be supplied not later than October, 2010. When supplied, it will be used for rerailment of derailed/capsized locomotive, etc. Contract awarded on 13th November 2009. Not yet supplied and Installed. To be completed not later than August, 2010. When installed, it will be used for locomotives, coaches/wagons wheel reprofiling.




4. SUPPLY OF 3 NOS RAIL-ROAD INSPECTION VEHICLES:



Contract awarded on 16th February, 2010. Not yet supplied. To be supplied not later than October, 2010. When supplied, they will be used for quick intervention in case of train accident, inspection of tracks, etc.




5. PURCHASE OF 25 NEW GENERAL ELECTRIC LOCOMOTIVES



Contract awarded on April, 2009. Five supplied in February, 2010. Supply to be completed not later than October, 2010. To be used for freight and passenger traffics.
